Core Debug Engineer 1

 

THE ROLE:

As a Core Debug Engineer, you will work with Design Verification/RTL Teams and designers to verify the design behavior and contribute to convergence. 

 

THE PERSON:

You have an interest in modern, complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification in general. You are a team player who has excellent communication skills. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills and are willing to learn and ready to take on problems. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and verify software components employing knowledge of digital design theory.
  • Perform pre-Silicon Verification of next generation high performance Microprocessor designs and related IPs.
  • Reach milestone metrics with qualitative contribution
  • Debug directed and random stimulus to find bugs in the microprocessor design; verify the functionality and verify conformance to the specifications.

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Project level experience with design concepts and RTL implementation for same 
  • Experience or familiarity with formal tools and/or functional verification tools by VCS, Cadence, Mentor Graphics, Synopsys, ModelSIM, Vivado, EDA Playground
  • Strong understanding of computer organization/architecture and Assembly language
  • X86 Architecture
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux Systems and bash scripting language
  • Experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog HDL, programming in scripting languages (Perl/Ruby/Python) , C/C++, logic simulation

 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND SKILLS

  • Good knowledge of English - both written and spoken.
  • Individual responsibility and a strong desire for personal achievements.
  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Documented and demonstrable knowledge in at least two of the following either academic or professional setting:
    • Modern computer architecture, including processor pipeline and memory hierarchy
    • Hands-on work in C++ programming for either hardware modeling or testbench development or projects of similar scope and complexity
    • Logic design and representing the same in HDL (e.g. Verilog or VHDL)
    • Hardware Verification methodology and techniques such as simulation, debug, coverage, formal etc.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills, and abilities to work with a diverse team
