DevOps ENGINEER

THE ROLE: 

We are looking for a dynamic, upbeat software engineer to join our growing team. As a key contributor you will be part of a leading team to drive and enhance AMD’s abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry-leading technologies to market.   

THE PERSON: 

The ideal candidate possesses an innovative and problem-solving mindset, has a keen eye for Software engineering development, and is diligent and passionate about Technology.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

• Develop and maintain DevOps pipelines for integration of software components in diverse environments
• Ability to design CI/CD flows, develop maintainable & extensible code/pipelines
• Work with and designing automation solutions that scale
• Build and package software for Linux/Windows ecosystems
• Design and implement Infrastructure monitoring, alerting, self-heal mechanisms
• Work in Agile, test-driven development model
• Work with development teams to implement strong branching and code promotion strategies
• Perform code reviews and deployments
• Exceptional communication skills to address multiple internal and external stakeholders
• Troubleshoot, profile existing/new implementations for improvements
• Create technical documentation/ user guides for implemented solutions
• Excellent communication skills and teamwork is a must

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: 

• Expertise with Coding/scripting in one or more Python, Powershell
• Expertise in GitHub Actions, Workflows

• Proven experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP in production environments

• Strong expertise in Infrastructure as Code practices

• Solid understanding of security, compliance, and privacy in cloud environments

• Hands-on experience with Grafana, Prometheus, and alerting/monitoring systems

• Should be Familiar with Software Build process (Compilation of code with GNU Make, CMake, Visual Studio, MS Build etc.)
• Proficient with container frameworks: Docker, Docker-compose 
• Strong expertise in at least one of Linux packaging ecosystems - specifically apt, yum, deb – in one or more Linux distributions – Ubuntu, SUSE, RHEL
• Strong expertise in managing at least one of these ecosystems: Github or Gitlab
• Ability to contribute to code reviews
• Ability to work in cross-functional, collaborative environment

• Excellent collaboration and communication skills

• Expertise in Windows packaging ecosystems in a plus
• Exposure to Kubernetes, Hashiucorp, Terraform is a definite plus
• Active participation in open source projects is a definite plus

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS: 

• Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
