What we’re looking for

For the Dishwasher, this means working efficiently to clean and sanitize all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment so the kitchen and service areas run smoothly. It also means maintaining a clean, organized workspace, following all safety and sanitation procedures, and supporting the kitchen team by ensuring they have the tools and equipment they need ready at all times.

Your Day-to-Day 

• Ensure that customers receive the best customer service by providing friendly, polite, and knowledgeable service; greet customers personally and thank them appreciatively for shopping at Adams.
• Operate dishwashing machines or wash items by hand, monitoring water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycles when using machines.
• Clean and sanitize equipment, preparation areas, and production areas as necessary during shift and at closing; clean dishes and equipment used and put them away once dry.
• Clean and mop floors, keeping work area floors clean and dry; keep all department storage areas clean and organized.
• Receive deliveries, checking weights for accuracy and matching inventory to bill; bag trash and dispose of it in the compactor and recycling.
• Be available to fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the department, including doing prep work or assisting customers.
• When a customer needs assistance, give the customer priority over the task at hand.

Working Conditions

• Safely operate the commercial dishwasher and clean all kitchen dishware, pots, utensils, knives, etc.
• Work in a productive pace environment, especially during holidays and busy times of the day
• Consistently move, adjust, and position items weighing up to 50 pounds
• Ability to remain in a stationary position for duration of shift
• Occasionally ascend/descend a stepstool, stepladder, and/or ladder
• Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers for duration of shift
• Communicate with others to exchange information
• Moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks including in tight and confined spaces

The salary range for this position takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions – including skill sets, experience, training, certifications and other business needs. A reasonable estimate of the current range is: $16.50 - $21.45. At Adams, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their position, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each situation.
