Acoustical Sheetmetal Company (ASC) is a leading industrial manufacturing company specializing in packaging systems for back-up power generators. With a strong focus on precision sheet metal & welding fabrication, sound attenuation, and integrated mechanical/electrical systems, ASC delivers high-quality, custom-engineered solutions to data and infrastructure clients across the U.S. We are in search of a dynamic Manufacturing Engineer.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Develop, optimize, and maintain manufacturing processes for generator enclosures, acoustic packaging systems, and industrial sheet metal assemblies
- Design and improve production layouts, workflows, tooling, and fixtures
- Support new product introductions from design through production
- Help create and maintain standard work instructions, routings, BOMs, and process documentation
- Identify and implement cost-reduction and waste-elimination opportunities
- Improve production efficiency, throughput, and labor utilization
- Collaborate with design engineering to ensure DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturability / Assembly)
- Support equipment selection, commissioning, and automation projects
- Provide technical support to production teams and supervisors
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality systems, and manufacturing best practices

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field and 3–7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in sheet metal fabrication, welding, assembly, or industrial packaging environments
- Experience with manufacturing heavy industrial equipment (preferred)
- Experience in a role supporting production operations
- Experience in manufacturing documentation
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tooling, fixtures, and production systems
- Knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S methodologies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a cross-functional teams
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment

Acoustical Sheetmetal Company provides environmental and sound attenuating packaging for on-site power generation and ancillary equipment from the most inexpensive skintight factory-like packaging to extreme, sound attenuation, heavy duty, industrial environment ready units and fueling systems.
We have three facilities located in Virginia Beach, Virginia , each built with the express purpose of assembling power generation projects and storing power generation equipment.
Our overall property is 5 1/2 Acres. The main manufacturing facilities are over 100,000 sq ft of space. A second facility is 11,000 sqft of clean storage facility designed to warehouse customer equipment and material. We have an acre of staging space and a 2000 sq ft administrative space.
