Job Description
Cafe Java at Novotel Dubai Al Barsha is seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. As a Barista, you will be responsible for creating exceptional coffee experiences for our guests while maintaining a clean and welcoming cafe environment.
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, including espresso-based beverages, drip coffee, and specialty drinks
- Greet customers warmly and take orders accurately
- Operate and maintain espresso machines, coffee grinders, and other cafe equipment
- Handle cash transactions and operate the Point of Sale (POS) system
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
- Recommend and upsell coffee products and cafe menu items
- Assist in inventory management and restocking supplies
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth cafe operations and excellent customer service
- Stay updated on coffee trends and share product knowledge with customers
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience as a barista preferred
- Strong knowledge of coffee types, brewing methods, and cafe operations
- Proficiency in operating espresso machines and other cafe equipment
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Basic math skills and cash handling experience
- Food handling certification preferred
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic or other languages is a plus
