Location: Middletown, NY

 

Hours: Flexible within the following time frame, Monday-Friday 8am-6pm

 

Pay: Unpaid

 

The Supported Housing program offers case management and supportive services to help residents with serious mental illness, substance use disorders, or other disabilities achieve stability and independence, focusing on long-term solutions. This program aims to equip Housing Case Manager Interns with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively assist clients with their housing needs, including writing case notes, filling out rental stipends, and addressing various client requests related to housing support.

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

 

  • Observe and assist the Supported Housing team.
  • Assist in writing case notes and completing rental stipend forms.
  • Learn to address clients’ immediate housing needs, such as medical transportation, maintenance, medical appointment follow up, etc.
  • Participate in supervised case management tasks.

 

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:

 

  • Attend team meetings when applicable.
  • Assist in creating program materials.
  • Additional assignments may be determined at a future date.

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:

 

  • Previous experience in human services field is preferred.
  • Strong organization skills with accurate attention to detail.
  • Sufficient skills to communicate effectively with both clients and staff.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

 

  • Current undergraduate student in a Human Services related program.
