Location: Middletown, NY

Pay Rte: $17.50 per hour

Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-4:30PM (40hrs)

 

OVERVIEW OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

This position will include transporting and providing services to persons with a developmental disability to and from pre-vocational activities in the community. 

 

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide pre-vocational services to persons with a developmental disability
  • Assist clients to achieve valued outcomes
  • Daily documentation of services provided according to OPWDD regulations.
  • Provide monthly summary of client progress according to OPWDD regulations
  • Record attendance and time in/time out of program
  • Ensure health, safety and program compliance
  • Provide advocacy, mentorship and vocational support
  • Transport clients from/to home and community activities 

 

 

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONAL / ORGANIZATIONAL SUPPORT:

  • Work as part of team of prevocational specialists

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Passion for assisting others to meet vocational goals
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with I/DD population
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) or ASL is a plus

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 6 months experience with persons with a developmental disability
