About this role

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Licensing Specialist with expertise in managing Tier 2 software publishers. The resource should have hands-on experience with scripts that are used either within the tool or used in env across for different kinds of process automation, etc. In this role, you will focus on ensuring compliance, optimizing software licensing, and streamlining Software Asset Management (SAM) processes for Tier 2 publishers. You will play a critical role in overseeing software licensing agreements and developing strategies to ensure cost efficiency while meeting the organizational needs. Key Responsibilities: 1. Primary Expertise in Tier 2 Publishers and Development w.r.t automation wherever possible Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and experience with Tier 2 software publishers to manage licensing, compliance, and asset management effectively. Experience with publishers like Finastra, NUIXCisco, Red Hat, Micro Focus, Splunk, Citrix, Broadcom, Automation Anywhere, Alteryx, Trendminer 2. Software Asset Management (SAM): Oversee the Software Asset Management (SAM) process, including managing Effective Licensing Positions (ELPs), to ensure that software usage aligns with organizational requirements and complies with legal standards – including deploying scripts and analysing script output 3. Utilization of SAM Toolsets: Leverage SAM toolsets such as ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera, Snow Software, or similar tools to manage and track licenses, ensuring effective software asset optimization and cost control – as per the toolset used, the relevant scripts to be introduced or enhanced, the script related errors to be diagnosed 4. Knowledge of IT Infrastructure: Understand IT infrastructure, including operating systems, virtualization, cloud platforms, and containerization, to make informed licensing decisions that complement the organization's technology ecosystem. 5. Licensing Terms and Compliance: Maintain strong knowledge of licensing terms, agreements, and conditions specific to Tier 2 software publishers. Develop and execute strategies for optimizing licensing costs while maintaining compliance with contractual obligations – as part of all this the resource should be able to customize existing scripts also 6. Organizational and Contract Management Skills: Exhibit strong organizational skills to efficiently manage complex licensing agreements, track renewals, handle vendor contracts, and maintain detailed compliance documentation. 7. Analytical Abilities for License Optimization: Apply your analytical expertise to assess licensing agreements, monitor software usage, and identify opportunities to optimize costs and ensure the organization is fully compliant with licensing policies. 8. Collaboration with Cross-functional Teams: Collaborate with IT, procurement, and legal teams to support ongoing business needs, assist in vendor negotiations, and ensure alignment with broader organizational objectives. Skills: Minimum of 5 years of experience in software licensing or a related role. Proven expertise in managing Tier 2 software publishers (e.g., Finastra, NUIXCisco, Red Hat, Micro Focus, Splunk, Citrix, Broadcom, Automation Anywhere, Alteryx, Trendminer and others). Strong knowledge of Software Asset Management (SAM) practices and tools (ServiceNow SAM Pro, Flexera, Snow Software). Understanding of IT infrastructure and licensing requirements in virtualized and cloud environments. Proficiency in interpreting licensing terms and conditions for Tier 2 publishers. Excellent organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple licensing agreements. Demonstrated ability to optimize licensing costs while maintaining compliance.
