This Federal Work Study position will support current students by providing a chance for students to have their products and artwork be sold and made available for display to the general public. In addition, this position will complement and reinforce a Federal Work Study student’s educational program or vocational goals by: Providing customer service experience in a retail environment and enhancing student’s organization and management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Welcome customers to the store and answer their queries

• Maintain in-stock and presentable condition in retail stores

• Assist with stock management

• Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options

• Process POS (point of sale) purchases

• Assist with e-commerce purchases and customer service

• Assist with e-commerce website management (content and product updates)

• Assist with e-commerce product presentation (photoshoot, styling, lookbook, etc)

• Assist with generating, editing, publishing and sharing engaging social medias content

• Report and suggest ways to improve sales

• Open and close retail stores

Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of retail principles and customer service

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Willing to learn retail and ecommerce operations, and marketing

• Interested in fashion, social media, design, arts and etc.

• Plus - Active on or interested in social media, and retail / customer service experience

Pay Rate: 

$19.18 per hour or approved rate for specific position

Work Schedule:

Available to work Monday, Wednesday & Thursday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm

Federal Work Study schedules can work up to 20 hours per week*

*Federal Work Study work schedules may not conflict with the student's class schedule.

Length of Employment: The student's starting term at the Academy of Art University through graduation.
