Federal Work Study Foundations Assistant is responsible for assisting the Department Manager with the following tasks:
Assist with general departmental administrative tasks- copying, filing, scanning, organizing images and files on the computer and in the office.
Facilities support- checking the building for maintenance issues, outdated and/or damaged signs, printers and copiers that need to be refilled, damaged flyers, trash, etc.
Setting up for and post signs and posters for Foundations events and workshops.
Director and full-time faculty support- checking in with Directors and full-time faculty at the beginning of your shift to see if they have any tasks you can assist with, covering the Director and Department Manager’s desks.
Student Support- Greet incoming students as they enter office, answer questions, and provide information as needed.
Support on cutting/matting/hanging of artwork as needed - such as during Spring Show periods.
Daily checks and reset of classroom setups/furniture prior and after classes end.
Check/stocking of printer.
Cleaning and organization of props in prop rooms.
Moving props, easels, drawing horses as needed.
Able to lift 25 lbs.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
Basic computer skills
Proficiency with Adobe CC and the Microsoft Office Suite
Organization, an eagerness to help, the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Preferred Skills:
Customer service
Preferred Academic Year: Sophomore or above is preferred but not required

$19.18 per hour

Length of Employment: The student's starting term at the Academy of Art University through graduation.
