About this role

The Utility Engineer supports the operation and maintenance of building systems by performing general repairs, light maintenance, and housekeeping tasks. Working under the direction of the Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer, or Stationary Engineer, this role ensures a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment within the facility.
 

Pay: $41.23/Hour

The pay listed is the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

This is a union position and as such will include union benefits.

 

Key Responsibilities (Aligned with CBA Duties i1–i14):

· . Repairs on toilet facilities including soap dispensers.

· Repairs on registers and radiators.

· Replacement of lamps and cleaning of light fixtures.

· Removing ceiling tile.

· Minor repairs on furniture and floors.

· Maintaining and/or replacing door hardware.

· Repair of floor maintenance equipment and venetian blinds.

· Maintenance painting in equipment rooms, cooling towers, and other building facilities.

· Replacement of air filters in the HVAC equipment.

· General cleaning in mechanical spaces and perimeter induction units.

· Cleanup of equipment in engine room and shop.

· Miscellaneous handy work requiring the limited use of hand tools.

· Replace fire extinguishers when needed.

· Cleaning of air vents and roof drains.

 

Qualifications:

Membership in Union Local 39: Must be an active union member and in good standing.

Proficiency in Tasks under Duties i1–i14: Demonstrated ability to perform light maintenance, repairs, and cleaning outlined in these duties.
