The Opportunity

Abbott's Rapid and Molecular Diagnostics division seeks to hire a Senior Commercial Excellence Specialist based in Lake Forest, IL office. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a driven, solution-oriented, and analytical professional to become an integral part of our US Infectious Disease Commercial Excellence team.  This role will report to the US Infectious Disease Commercial Excellence Director and aims to enable commercial strategy and drive profitable sales growth in the U.S. Infectious Disease business. Your contributions will be instrumental in standardizing, automating, and providing analytical insights and reports, while driving data integrity.  The Senior Commercial Excellence Specialist will serve as a business partner and commercial expert on business initiatives that support the US Commercial business. This position, in partnership with the Regional Sales Support team, will create and deploy resources, tools, and initiatives that unify and enable the business to achieve company objectives and support our field team to operate efficiently and execute.

What You'll Work on

  • Assist in providing support to the commercial team on various business initiatives, such as tracking promotional activities, contract renewal process, performance tracking, along with marketing and distribution performance tracking.
  • Cultivate strong working relationships with various business functions and implement best-in-class procedures that achieve business initiatives.
  • Apply project management techniques that detail project needs and ensure the timely completion of tasks.
  • Coordinates, through collaboration, all appropriate Abbott resources to execute strategic business plans to achieve objectives.
  • Collaborate on the ideation, project planning, execution, and roll-out of tailored dashboards & reports to drive meaningful commercial actions (via Power BI or similar)

Sales Analytics and Insights

  • Provide leadership with commercial insights, trends, and intelligence; translate complex data into simple insights
  • Utilize data resources to partner with stakeholders in optimizing existing tools or developing new solutions
  • Design and deliver meaningful analytical tools and dashboards (SFDC, Power BI, etc) to ultimately provide insights to aid in the assessment of the Business Performance
  • Ensure that data is accurate and usable

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Sales, Marketing, Business Management, or related coursework. 
  • 7 years of experience in the relevant field
  • Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Database development (i.e., MS Access, SQL, etc.), SFDC, and data visualization tools (Power BI)
  • Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable commercial insights
  • Strong blend of technical knowledge and business understanding
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including problem-solving, conflict resolution, project planning, and execution. Excellent interpersonal skills and documented success in a team working environment.
  • Proven success in the ability to work in cross-functional teams to meet clearly defined objectives that benefit the Company and the customer. 
  • Strong internal and external networking skills with robust interpersonal skills that will develop and enhance long-term relationships.
