Job Description:
The Manager, Product Engineering is responsible for leading, developing, and managing a multidisciplinary engineering team to successfully design, improve, launch, and support HVAC-based product lines. This role blends product leadership, engineering execution, operational strategy, and cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation, product performance, manufacturability, customer satisfaction, and profitability.RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and mentor a team of product engineers and technical staff.
Direct product development from concept through launch, validation, and lifecycle support.
Establish engineering processes, documentation standards, and technical quality benchmarks.
Align engineering output with business goals, cost targets, compliance requirements, and product roadmap decisions.
Guide product research, modeling, heat-transfer analysis, mechanical design, testing, and certification.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to enhance design-for-build efficiency and resolve factory issues.
Drive BOM accuracy, drawings, engineering data, and documentation for release to production.
Work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and leadership to support product strategy and pricing inputs.
Investigate customer issues and warranty trends, lead RCA efforts, and implement engineering improvements.
Support regulatory adherence with DOE, AHRI, ASHRAE and industry certification requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline (MS preferred).
10+ years of HVAC engineering or related mechanical product experience.
3-5 years of refrigeration & hydronic piping design experience
Prior leadership, technical mentoring, or engineering management experience.
Proficiency in 3D modeling (Inventor preferred), BOM development, thermodynamics, refrigeration cycles.
Demonstrated ability to drive execution, solve complex engineering challenges, and deliver results.
Strong communication, analytical decision-making, and project management ability.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
CFD/FEA simulation proficiency.
Knowledge of electromechanical controls, motors, VFDs, PLCs, sensors.
Field testing, product validation, lab data interpretation experience.
Business, P&L awareness, cost-reduction and product competitiveness mindset.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office-based role with routine production-floor presence and occasional test-lab or field-site travel.

Pay Range:
