Suppliers Quality Engineer Sr

Job Description Summary

The Senior Suppliers Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality of materials and components received from external suppliers, playing a critical role in maintaining El Carmen Manufacturing Facility's high product standards and operational efficiency.

Job Description:

Main Responsabilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain supplier quality assurance programs and procedures.
Conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate their quality management systems and manufacturing processes.
Collaborate with purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing teams to define supplier quality requirements and specifications.
Investigate and resolve complex supplier quality issues, including root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Monitor supplier performance metrics, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers.
Lead new supplier qualification processes and participate in supplier selection.
Manage and track supplier non-conformances, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Provide technical guidance and training to suppliers on quality standards, processes, and tools.
Participate in new product development (NPD) projects to ensure supplier readiness and quality during all phases.
Prepare and present regular reports on supplier quality performance and improvement efforts to management.

Required Skills and Education

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Manufacturing) or a related technical field.
Minimum of 7 years of experience in supplier quality engineering or a closely related quality assurance role within a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AS9100).
Proficiency in quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D, PPAP).
Demonstrated experience conducting supplier audits and driving corrective actions.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to travel to supplier sites as required.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or similar certification is a plus.
