About this role



Job Description:
The Maintenance Person is expected to provide excellent customer service to all guest they encounter. Excellent service requires offering Ultimate Service with a smile and promoting the brand standards we are known for – uncompromised service with a focus on guest satisfaction. This position is responsible for the ensuring all equipment is maintained and the property is in good working order to contribute to the overall positive guest experience.


Job Requirements:
• Complete all brand required training
• Complete all required Safety & Health training
• Cut lawns using push mower or riding mower
• Trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls, using clippers, weed eaters, and edging tools
• Prune shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs, using shears, pruners, or chain saw
• Spray lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer, herbicides, and insecticides, using hand or automatic sprayer
• Rake and bags leaves, or prepare them for incineration
• Clean grounds and remove litter using spiked stick or broom.
• Shovel snow from walks and driveways
• Spread salt on public passage ways to prevent ice buildup
• Plant grass, flowers, trees, and shrubs
• Water lawn and shrubs
• Make minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mowers and irrigation systems
• Repair fences and gates, walls, walks, etc., as needed
• Paint fences, and outbuildings as needed
• Clean out drainage ditches, and culverts
• Perform ground maintenance duties using tractor equipped with attachments, such as mowers, lime, or fertilizer spreaders, lawn roller, and snow removal equipment
• Sharpen tools
• Complete basic plumbing repairs, as needed
• Perform any job-related duties as requested by supervisor


Necessary Skills:
• Ability to effectively communicate with staff and guests of varied cultural and ethnic backgrounds
• Ability to carry out specific oral or written instructions with precision
• Willingness and ability to adapt as necessary to meet business demands
• Focus on guest satisfaction and project this desire through positive interaction with guests while striving to provide an excellent experience for all guests, both internal and external
• Must have strong working knowledge of various mechanical, plumbing, maintenance, and electrical concepts and the ability to problem solve within this skill set
• Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form


Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to climb stairs, able to thrive in a fast-pace environment
• Must be able to use a ladder and step stool
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds frequently and 25 pounds periodically
• Must be able to pull up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Must have visual acuity to distinguish between objects both near and far (with or without corrective lenses)
• Must have ability to function in humid, low-light, wet, hot, and cold environments
• Must possess a significant amount of endurance and physical strength to effectively complete the requirements of this position.
