Overview

This position is responsible for supporting corporate services and all operating companies with a broad range of duties, including but not limited to promoting physical security, corporate emergency preparedness and response, business continuity planning, security compliance requirements, conducting investigations, executive protection, and loss prevention strategies.   #INDPPL


Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct vulnerability assessments of substations, control rooms, corporate offices, and executive residences. Evaluate security systems, fencing, access control, lighting, and surveillance technologies at facilities.
  • Support or lead investigations into theft, vandalism, workplace violence, and other incidents affecting company personnel or property.
  • Plan and lead protective operations for executives during domestic and international travel, corporate meetings, and public appearances. Conduct advance site assessments, threat analysis, route planning, and logistical coordination.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to enhance compliance with all applicable state and federal regulatory physical security standards.
  • Develop, implement, and update emergency response plans, business continuity plans, and all hazard plans. Conduct trainings and exercises utilizing the Incident Command System in preparation for response.
  • Conduct threat and risk assessments to identify potential threats, vulnerabilities, and risks to personnel, property, and operations: recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Provide technical support in the design, installation, and oversight of various electronic protection systems throughout the company.
  • Design and deliver employee training related to workplace violence prevention, de-escalation techniques, travel safety, and emergency procedures.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources and Internal Audit on employee-related investigations or code of conduct violations.
  • Support and maintain liaison with the contracted security services, including coordination of schedules, emergency needs, key performance indicators, and budget management.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with local, state, and federal law enforcement, especially in regions hosting utility infrastructure.
  • All other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Associate's degree in criminal justice, law enforcement or related field or discipline or an equivalent and combination of education as relevant work experience.

Required Experience:

  • 20 years of certified law enforcement experience or military service.

Licenses / Certifications / Other Qualifications:

  • Obtain and maintain all required firearms carry permits and authorizations in operating states (required).
  • DL Number - Driver License, valid and in State (required).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Executive / Dignitary protection and planning
  • Emergency Management experience
  • Experience working security with equipment cameras, access control, and security technology
  • Preferred Certification:
    • CPP (Certified Protection Professional), or PSP (Physical Security Professional) or Professional Certified Investigator (PCI) certifications through ASIS (American Society of Industrial Security)
    • CEM (Certified Emergency Manager), CBCP (Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), and/or MBCI (Member Business Continuity Institute).
