POSITION SUMMARY
This position is accountable for safely and efficiently operating bulldozers to move earth, rock, gravel, sand, or other materials on construction sites. Duties include grading, leveling, sloping, backfilling, and clearing land to prepare job sites for utility, roadway, and structural projects. The operator is also responsible for the proper operation and routine maintenance of the bulldozer and may assist with other construction-related tasks as needed to support project completion.
The incumbent must have the ability and flexibility to work different shifts and long hours (8-12 hours). Weekend work and extra hours occur according to production needs and at the discretion of the Crew Supervisor.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates bulldozers to cut, move, and spread material to rough or finish grade specifications. Clears and levels land for construction, roadwork, and utility installation. Maintains proper slopes and drainage on job sites. Performs pre-operation and post-operation inspections of equipment. Monitors gauges, levers, and controls to ensure equipment functions properly. Fuels, lubricates, and performs basic maintenance in accordance with manufacturer guidelines. Coordinates with grade checkers, survey crews, and supervisors to ensure accurate cuts and fills. Loads and pushes materials to designated areas or stockpiles. Follows traffic control, utility markings, and project site safety requirements. Collaborates with other crew members to ensure efficient and safe job site operations. Assists in other duties as assigned, including general labor or equipment support. Maintains equipment and tools to ensure long lasting use. All employees, current and former, must maintain confidentiality by not disclosing to others any confidential, proprietary or trade secret information belonging to the Company.

Performs other duties as may be assigned or requested by immediate supervision (such as certification training, safety training, procedure review, etc.).
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
A minimum of 7+ years of experience operating bulldozers in construction is required. Technical proficiency in grading, site preparation, and earthmoving procedures is essential. In addition, the incumbent must:
Be able to operate any small to medium sized 6-way dozer (D2 to D9 or equivalent) Must be able to cut and maintain finish grade with blue tops and cut stakes. Experience with machine control GPS preferred Must be able to cut slopes and backslopes carrying grade from 2:1, 3:1, 6:1 to 10:1 Proficient with soil stabilization including lime treat, lime-fly ash treat, cement treat subgrade Proficient in placing, processing and compacting of flexbase Operating this machine requires a daily inspection to be completed everyday Be able to read and interpret grade stakes, blueprints, and site plans. Demonstrate strong awareness of grading tolerances, slopes, and drainage. Be able to work in constant change in weather and site conditions. Be able to lift, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, and perform other physical activities as needed. Must be willing to work out of town as needed.

The incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable workplace accommodation.
The individual must also be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, ear plugs, steel-toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done.
This individual must also have the ability to identify critical issues and formulate action plans with all levels of management, including corporate and executive.
The incumbent must possess the ability to remain calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident and as directed by the Safety Representative or other management personnel. Must be capable of evacuating the work area in a timely manner should an emergency arise.
In addition, the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
