Senior Software Engineer

Full-Time with an ESOP Contractor | Onsite in Huntsville, AL

Schedule: 9x80 (Every Other Friday Off) | Position is off-post, not Redstone Arsenal

 


 

Senior Software Engineer on the IFICS Data Terminal (IDT) product team, supporting the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Weapon System. This role plays a critical part in delivering secure, scalable, and modern software solutions for U.S. missile defense capabilities.

 


 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement object-oriented software in C++, Java, and Python

  • Develop within CI/CD pipelines, automated builds and tests, quality gates, software quality, and CI tools and pipelines

  • Apply security coding best practices and use tools like SonarQube and Coverity

  • Familiarity with security coding standard best practices, static and dynamic scanning tools, i.e., SonarQube, Coverity, etc.
  • Support cloud-based deployments on Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud (GCP)

  • Contribute to Agile ceremonies, backlog grooming, and iterative deliveries

  • Collaborate across engineering and program teams to meet secure development standards


 

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Active Secret Clearance required
  • Must be able to acquire a DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security+ CE) within 60 days from start date
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field from an accredited institution and 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience developing object-oriented software in C++, Java, and Python
  • Experience with CI/CD best practices, automated builds and tests, quality gates, software quality, and CI tools and pipelines
  • Familiarity with security coding standards and best practices, and with static and dynamic scanning tools (e.g., SonarQube, Coverity).
  • Recent experience working with cloud technologies and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), or Google Cloud (GCP)
  • Recent experience with Agile practices and principles to deliver high-quality products and services

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on Missile Defense programs
  • Prior experience working with DOORS
  • Familiar with Agile terminology and best practices, and experience using Atlassian Tools
  • Prior experience as a Product Owner
  • Familiar with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Cameo
  • Familiar with automated software requirements testing and analysis
