Aerospace Systems Technician

Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA

Responsibilities:

  • Assemble, disassemble, modify, or upgrade aerospace vehicle components to correct system failures or implement design changes.
  • Oversee the assembly, disassembly, or overhaul of aerospace systems and components.
  • Configure aerospace vehicles and related bench test equipment for validation and verification activities.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems by isolating mechanical or electrical faults.
  • Conduct system and component validation/verification testing to ensure proper function.
  • Document repairs, test results, modifications, and inspections in accordance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform component inspections and verify repairs meet flight worthiness criteria.
  • Provide technical oversight and training to less experienced technicians.
  • Work under general supervision with expectations of independent execution of tasks.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 4+ years of related experience in aerospace systems maintenance, assembly, or testing — or equivalent education/experience (e.g., vocational/technical training + experience, Associate’s degree + 2 years, etc.).
  • Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems in aerospace or similar environments.
  • Knowledge of system troubleshooting, component testing, and inspection protocols.
  • Experience using bench test equipment and configuring test setups.
  • Must be able to work on-site as required by program or operational needs.
