Embedded Software Engineer

Full-Time with an ESOP Contractor | Onsite in Huntsville, AL

Schedule: 9x80 (Every Other Friday Off) | Position is off-post, not Redstone Arsenal

 


Join the Ground Support Systems (GSS) group supporting the GMD Weapon System (GWS) as a Senior Software Engineer. You will play a key role on the Non-Tactical Equipment (NTE) team, developing and maintaining mission-critical software for missile defense applications.


 

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for developing and implementing software updates that best meet changing customer needs for new and existing features, collaborating with team members, and working in a cross-functional agile scrum team.

  • Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs application software and systems that incorporate logical and mathematical solutions, demonstrating ingenuity and creativity.

  • Support advanced portions of the lifecycle of software development to include requirements definition, integration, and deployment.

  • Apply "systems thinking" to ensure developed products are scalable, maintainable, and meet end-user needs.

  • Collaborates with other software and systems engineers to determine computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems with program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls; prepares operating instructions.


 

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Active Secret Clearance is required 
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) field from an accredited university and 8+ years of relevant software engineering experience (Or Master’s and 6+ years of relevant experience) 

  • Extensive experience with:
    • Developing object-oriented software in C#
    • Embedded software development
    • Experience using NUnit
    • Experience with Moq Framework
    • Experience developing software in a Windows environment
    • Knowledge of SysUML
    • Familiarity with Atlassian and Agile software development practices

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Software Engineering or a related field
  • Missile Defense domain knowledge
  • Active CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance

Estimated Salary Range: $120,000 - $160,000 (This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc).
