CNC Mill Machinist

Huntsville, AL

$25.00-$30.00/Hour 

2nd Shift Opportunity

 


Our client is a precision manufacturer specializing in custom load cells, weighing systems, and high-tolerance machined components for aerospace, defense, and industrial applications. All manufacturing and machining is performed in-house at their Huntsville, AL facility.


 

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC milling machines using existing programs
  • Load and unload parts, fixtures, and tooling
  • Verify correct tooling, offsets, and machine settings prior to running jobs
  • Monitor machining processes and make minor adjustments to feeds, speeds, and offsets as needed
  • Inspect parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators)
  • Perform first-piece and in-process inspections to ensure parts meet specifications
  • Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and inspection requirements
  • Maintain production and quality documentation
  • Perform routine machine maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, coolant checks)
  • Follow all safety procedures, quality standards, and shop policies
  • Communicate issues related to quality, tooling, or machine performance to supervision

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1–3+ years of experience operating CNC milling machines
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and basic GD&T
  • Experience using precision measuring instruments
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently on 2nd shift
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with tight-tolerance or precision machining
  • Aerospace, defense, or ISO-regulated manufacturing experience
  • Experience with multi-axis CNC mills (operation only)
