Public Safety Officer
Full-time, Hourly
Hourly Range: $16.87 – $25.31
Job Summary:
The Public Safety Officers provide security for those who work, visit and conduct business inside the Milwaukee County Courthouse, Safety Building, Criminal Justice Facility and the Vel R. Phillips Youth & Family Justice Center. All who enter these facilities are required to either show a valid form of work identification or be vetted by the security officers. This position is vital to keeping a safe environment for the mentioned facilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to lift, carry, push and pull 10 lbs.; knowledge of security practices and procedures; oral and written communication skills; ability to take prompt and decisive action in an emergency situation; ability to use a computer to write reports; ability to work well under stress; ability to operate a two-way radio; ability to understand and follow both written and oral directions; and ability to work effectively and harmoniously with employees and the general public.
