Recreation/Admissions – Park Worker

Seasonal, Hourly

Hourly Range: $11.23 - $16.82 per hour

Job Summary

This position will work in the recreation facilities including aquatic facilities, Boerner Botanical Garden, Mitchell Park Domes, community centers, and recreation centers in a cash handling position and have general Park Worker duties.

 

Job Responsibilities May Include:

  • Customer Service and Sales - Working the admissions area of recreation facilities. Answering phones and general questions about the facility. 
  • Cash Handling - Recording sales in point-of-sale (POS) system and following cash handling guidelines set forth by Milwaukee County.
  • General Park Operations - Maintain parks, facilities and amenities including, but not limited to: push mowing, rental facility cleaning and preparation, cleaning, shoveling, debris removal, weeding, pruning, planting and watering trees.
  • Administrative - Complete park permits, attendance reports, logs, cash reports, and deposit slips.
  • Ability to properly or safely operate: cash registers, credit card machines, pruners, weed eater computers and phones.
  • Ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Education, License/Certification and Experience

  • Sixteen (16) years of age or older upon application required
  • Previous Customer Service experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of all related computer and software applications such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel preferred

The non-competitive examination will consist of a review of candidate materials, education and related experience.
