IT Applications System Analyst

IMSD

Full Time

Pay Range: $31.69 – $47.53

  

Summary: IT Applications Analyst utilizes specialized knowledge of software and systems components and applies knowledge and skills in problem-solving, implementing configuration changes, including technical expertise in assigned systems. Analyzes, documents, installs, supports, and maintains applications, software, and systems. Knows and follows ITIL best practices. Collaborates and communicates with client customers. 

 

On-call and after-hours support may be required from time-to-time as a result of 24/7 operations support.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Configures applications, systems, and solutions maintenance - Hands on support for day-to-day usage of applications. Maintains a deep domain knowledge of the functionality of Milwaukee County Enterprise applications, technology, and integrations. Provides technical support to Milwaukee County and IMSD staff.
  • Support Activities Leadership - Converts requirements into appropriate system configurations. Supports the planning, creation and implementation of interfaces and other integration as necessary. Primary support resource for applications. Primary for integration of County to enterprise systems.  
  • Ensures the security and integrity of all systems and data - Ensures security, compliance and integrity of systems and data. Creates, implements, maintains, and tests disaster recovery procedures for applications. Ensures change control and support ticketing processes are executed by defined procedures.   
  • Development of Excellent Solution Delivery People - Practice strong personal management routines; effectively participates in the IMSD performance management process to drive goals and performance; Works effectively in a matrix environment and develop a culture of collaboration; Ensures IMSD reputation for solid delivery.
  • Administrative and supervision duties - Completes all administrative tasks required for the position, including time reporting and documentation. Provide supervision to other analysts and act as lead programmer within projects or maintenance related tasks. Assist management in developing policies and procedures.
  • Software Administration - Administrates, maintains and upgrades existing and new software systems.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current resident of Wisconsin
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • At least 6 months of related experience in an IT, Engineering or business-related setting
  • Intermediate knowledge of all related computer and software applications, such as word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Intermediate knowledge configuring and managing web-based applications.

 

Preferred skills and knowledge:

  • Associate degree in IT, Engineering, or Business-related preferred
  • ITIL Foundations certificate preferred
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Experience setting up and managing web-based applications.
  • Well versed in technical concepts, approaches, and designs.
  • Solid understanding of internet technologies like HTTPS, FTP, IIS, SMTP, DNS, and VPN.
  • Experience with programming languages like SQL, HTML, Visual Basic, C#, Visual C++, JavaScript, Java, PHP, Python, or other.
  • Experience working with databases like Azure SQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Oracle, Access, or other database technologies.
  • Experience with file formats like CSV, XML, fixed length, and EDI.
  • Experience with content management systems like OnBase, Titan, or other.
  • Knowledge of internet-based productivity suites like Microsoft’s Office 365 or Google’s G Suite.
  • Working knowledge of Agile and waterfall methodologies for planning and executing work.
  • General knowledge of network hardware/protocols and desktop hardware/operating systems.
  • Experience configuring and managing web-based applications.
