About this role

Position Summary

Oversees activities related to the planning, purchasing, and logistics functions.  Communicates performance targets associated with the process, measures actual performance, and implements corrective actions as required.  Procures materials to fulfill material plan/demand.  Participates in product development and on-going operations.  Supports work related to new technologies and provides functional perspective to continual improvement and organizational strategy.  Negotiates long term pricing, cost reduction activities, and manages approved suppliers.

Qualifications & Critical Skills

·       High school diploma or equivalent plus 6+ years of experience in a purchasing environment, including 3 years in planning

·       An Associate’s degree will be considered as 2 years related work experience and a Bachelor’s degree will be considered as 4 years related work experience

·       Extensive experience with ERP/MRP systems

·       Experience with supplier sourcing, selection and negotiation

·       Experience with contract management

·       Experience with metrics and process management

·       Some continuing education coursework through an industry association (e.g. APICS, ISM)

·       Desired: Degree in electronics or business

·       Desired: CPM or CPIM

·       Maintains supplier related metrics and initiates Supplier Corrective Action Requests as appropriate

·       Maintains Approved Supplier List, ensuring compliance with internal ISO and FAA processes

·       Part availability based on forecast/sales orders

·       Converts sales forecast and orders into a purchasing plan by entering numbers into MRP and generating output reports

·       End of Life/Last Time Buy management, ensuring best pricing and early notification

·       Excellent communication of part status to organization

·       Quotes lead times for quick turn and non-forecasted material

·       Expedites production material to correspond with the changing needs of operations by working with suppliers and internal staff to balance inventory with demand

·       Quarterly presentations to organization of industry roadmaps related to the display markets

·       IPD support in sourcing new/existing commodities

·       Analyzes MRP output, directing requirements for new orders, reschedules, and cancellations of existing orders

·       Sourcing of new suppliers for replacement and/or new commodities

·       Functional leadership and direction to other procurement personnel

Physical, Ergonomic & Environmental Considerations

·       Primarily works in an office with moderate noise levels, controlled temperature conditions and no direct exposure to hazardous physical substances

·       Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery
