About this role

Lucix Corporation, a subsidiary of HEICO’s Electronic Technologies Group has steadily evolved to become the world leader in RF Active and Passive Units, Subsystems, and Assemblies, for Commercial, Civil and Defense Satellite Payloads.  Lucix also provides RF hardware for Airborne and Ground Systems.  All hardware is designed, qualified, manufactured, tested, and shipped from Lucix facilities in California, USA.

 

We are seeking a Network Engineer to design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network infrastructure.  The Network Engineer’s primary goal is to ensure the smooth operation of the network infrastructure to provide maximum performance and availability for the system users.

 

Work Environment:  This is an on-site in person position. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

  • Design and deploy functional networks (LAN, WLAN, WAN)
  • Configure and install various servers, network devices and services (e.g., VM’s, switches, internal firewalls, VPN, QoS)
  • Perform server and network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations
  • Manage and optimize in-house and cloud-based network
  • Assist in the development and implementation of servers and network security, protocols, and troubleshooting network issues
  • Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability
  • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning
  • Provide Level 2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues
  • Plan for and respond to service outages and other problems
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks
  • Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure
  • Collaborate with executive team members, decision makers, and stakeholders to define business requirements and systems goals, and to identify and resolve business systems issues
  • Select and implement policies and procedures in conjunction with the company’s requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Job Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related subject matter skill set
  • 5-7 years of experience in network administration
  • Professional certification (e.g. CCNP, CCDP) and Linux proficiency is a plus
  • Proficient in network architecture, design, and management with a deep understanding of network protocols and security
  • Proven hands-on server and network engineering experience
  • Awareness of NIST and CMMC frameworks and an understanding of server/networking protocols (e.g., IP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot network issues
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams, providing technical leadership when necessary

Physical Demands:  

  • Able to lift, carry, and install equipment up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods throughout the workday
