Vice Chair of Education – Department of Radiology
Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center
The Department of Radiology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, seeks accomplished educators to serve as our next Vice Chair of Education. Candidates should have an MD with a successful and sustained track record of leadership of ACGME-approved educational programs in an academic medical center.
As Director of our Herbert Gramm Education Academy, this outstanding individual will oversee and drive our educational mission including expanding our faculty in the Teaching and Educational Leadership track at Harvard Medical School, representing our educational programs at the Institutional level, alumnus relations and meeting the educational expectations of our many learners. A priority for this individual is to ensure regulatory compliance, to brand and market our educational mission, and to participate in recruiting the next generation of leaders in our field.
The Vice Chair of Education leads the Department’s education operations and associated teams, projects, initiatives and administrative processes to increase the department’s education portfolio and ensure strategic initiatives are being met. The administrative functions include oversight of our education budget and delegated oversight of our Harvard Medical student core program, diagnostic (32) and interventional residency (12-person) programs, and our 7 clinical fellowship programs.
The department will be engaged in the newly announced and exciting clinical collaboration between Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, BIDMC, and Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians (HMFP) to establish New England’s only free-standing adult inpatient cancer hospital. The collaboration will bring together world-class clinicians to deliver transformational, precision medicine in an environment solely dedicated to defying cancer. Directly or via delegation, the VC for Education is responsible for the following:
Education program recruitment, administration, GME/ACGME compliance and branding Implement, advance and brand programs under our Education Academy umbrella Our weekly Grand Rounds program and named annual lecture portfolio Together with Radiology Finance Admin staff, manages our Education budget Our Graduation Day event Selection and distribution of trainee recognitions and awards Develop and oversee CME programs for the department
Candidates should be eligible for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor academic rank at Harvard Medical School and appointment level will be commensurate with experience and published evidence of innovation and scholarly productivity.

Pay Range:
$482,500 - $522,500The base pay range reflects what Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (HMFP) reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time. Actual compensation within this range may be determined based on several factors, including academic appointment, work experience, specialty training, geography of work location, anticipated productivity, FTE basis, and role expectations. In addition to base compensation, this role may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which may include bonuses for productivity and quality HMFP also offers a comprehensive and generous employee benefits program to eligible employees, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as retirement plan(s) with employer contributions.
