The Carl J Shapiro Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (an affiliate of Beth Israel Lahey Health) and Harvard Medical School seek applications and nominations for an early to mid-career Arthroplasty and Joint Reconstruction Surgeon with a strong interest in orthopaedic education and clinical research. This is an employed position of Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at BIDMC, Inc. (HMFP).
The incumbent is expected to have strong clinical experience in primary and revision arthroplasty, and a focus on educational, and research activities. Preferential consideration may be given to applicants who possess a strong academic and research track record. Academic Rank at Harvard Medical School (HMS) is available and will be commensurate with experience, training and scholarly achievements. Faculty appointment decisions are solely the purview of HMS.
Clinical practice will be primarily based at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, a Level I trauma center in the heart of Boston’s Longwood Medical Area, and New England Baptist Hospital, with additional clinical opportunities for practice at other sites within the Beth Israel Lahey Health network, including BIDMC Needham, other BILH affiliates, as well as affiliated Ambulatory Surgical Centers.
Candidates must have completed an accredited orthopaedic residency training program, a fellowship in Adult Joint Reconstruction, be board certified/board eligible, and be eligible for licensure in Massachusetts. Proposed academic rank at Harvard Medical School will be commensurate with experience, training and academic achievements.

Pay Range:
$150,000 - $300,000The base pay range reflects what Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (HMFP) reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this role at the time of posting and may be modified from time to time. Actual compensation within this range may be determined based on several factors, including academic appointment, work experience, specialty training, geography of work location, anticipated productivity, FTE basis, and role expectations. In addition to base compensation, this role may be eligible for performance-based incentives, which may include bonuses for productivity and quality HMFP also offers a comprehensive and generous employee benefits program to eligible employees, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as retirement plan(s) with employer contributions.
