Position Title: Newborn Hospitalist

Department of Neonatology

Mount Auburn Hospital

Mount Auburn Hospital, a Harvard Medical School teaching hospital and member of the Beth Israel Lahey Health network serving the greater Cambridge, Massachusetts area is seeking a part-time Newborn Hospitalist to join the Department of Neonatology & Newborn Medicine. Mount Auburn Hospital cares for a diverse mix of suburban and urban patients and is characterized by an exceptional and collegial working environment.

Job responsibilities include providing inpatient care at Mount Auburn Hospital’s well-baby nursery.  Join a team of 4 pediatricians who round daily on term infants, with no night-call requirements.  Weekend and holiday coverage are split evenly between team members.  Responsibilities include circumcisions and frenotomies, with on-the-job training available for both procedures.  The nursery supports a 2600 birth OB/CNM delivery service, with 24-hour in-house neonatology coverage/support and on-site Level 2B nursery access.  The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to providing exceptional care to a diverse patient population.

Job Requirements

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board-certified or an active candidate for Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine sub-board certification by the American Board of Pediatrics
  • A valid MA medical license or the ability to obtain one
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
