As an Employee Experience Specialist, you will play a key role in creating meaningful programs, activities, events, and initiatives that strengthen Equitable’s culture and drive employee engagement. In this role, you will support employees throughout every stage of the employee lifecycle—from recruitment and onboarding to career development and offboarding—helping the organization attract, develop, and retain top talent.

You will also contribute directly to advancing Equitable’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by shaping and sustaining initiatives that foster an inclusive and supportive workplace. Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement. In this role, the Employee Experience Specialist will be required to work more than the minimum requirement in office.



What you’ll do:

  • Develop and execute the administration of a wide range of programs, activities, events, and initiatives that promote our culture, employee engagement, retention, learning and development, including Equitable events and programs.
  • Develop, facilitate and lead training, as required.
  • Collaborate with and support HR team members with employee lifecycle programs, activities, events and initiatives including Equitable Orientation and Growing Together events.
  • Support the ongoing maintenance and development of people policies and guide people-related policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Lead the Employee Resource Group and its various initiatives
  • Administer the Annual Employee Opinion Survey and analyze results to identify and execute applicable action items.
  • Develop metrics for evaluating employee experience and create strategies to improve employee satisfaction in their roles.
  • Strategize and develop programs relating to employee engagement and performance management across the company.
  • Collaborate with HR team members and business leaders to understand their needs related to the employee experience by proactively interfacing with key stakeholders in order to understand, recommend and deploy effective solutions.
  • Ensure the Company operates within the laws and regulations by which it is governed.
  • Other duties as required.
     

 

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Human Resource Development or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience with rewards and recognition, culture development and/or diversity, equity and inclusion
  • Strong influencer with a track record of positive work culture initiatives
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills
  • Strong change management experience
  • Strong organizational skills and high level of attention to detail
  • Strong consultative and collaborative approach
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate and solve practical problems
  • Resourceful, results-oriented with a people-first and agile mindset
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • Strong data analytic skills - experience in measuring and evaluating impact experience
  • French as a second language is an asset

Your base pay will be based on your skills, qualifications, experience and education. In addition to your salary, this role is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award tied to business performance, plus a wide range of competitive benefits.
