We're searching for an Actuarial Associate or Actuary to join our Individual Wealth Valuation team. Reporting to the Director, Individual Wealth Valuation, this position will learn and gain a deep understanding of the IFRS 17 knowledge and financial reporting experience. You’ll participate in an actuarial rotation program and get the opportunity to experience and learn different areas of our business.

Work Arrangements: This is a hybrid role. You will work in our office in Waterloo, ON a minimum of two (2) assigned, consecutive days every other week, plus a fifth (5th) assigned day per month. You are welcome to work from the office more than the minimum requirement and there may be some roles that are required to work in our office more than the minimum requirement.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Quarterly financial reporting under IFRS 17 for Individual Wealth products
  • Support LICAT reporting, Risk Measure sensitivity testing, FCT and AAR
  • Actuarial assumption changes implementation and financial impact analysis
  • Participate in providing projections of actuarial reserves, cash flows, capital requirements, business plan under guidance
  • New products implementation to valuation models
  • Make recommendations on process improvements

 


What you’ll bring:

  • Proficiency in the use of Excel VBA
  • Familiarity with actuarial software Moody’s AXIS
  • Experience working at a direct insurance company and knowledge of wealth products
  • Demonstrated experience multi-tasking within a competing priority environment
  • FCIA/FSA or ACIA/ASA designation with a commitment to complete the FCIA/FSA designation
