Summary

$7,500 Sign On Bonus for CT Tech w/ more than a year experience

Requires 2 year commitment to Confluence Health

 

Perform all routine CT radiographic examinations and procedures by participating in technical duties directly involved with the CT scanner. Provide patients with safe, courteous, and efficient care. Assist in other sections of the department as needed.

 

Position Reports To: Radiology Manager


Essential Functions

  1. Prepares for and performs routine CT examinations and procedures while operating CT scanners and related equipment in accordance with prescribed radiation safety procedures. Evaluates CT images for technical quality.

  2. Screens patient for contrast contraindications to ensure safety and completes “Informed Consent” forms as needed.

  3. Performs IV access, using sterile technique and administers contrast media under physician supervision.

  4. Maintains the cleanliness of the scanner and associated minor equipment in accordance with infection control policies and procedures.

  5. Utilizes PACS, RIS, and current EMR efficiently and completes required documentation for each examination performed.

  6. Keep the room stocked and cleaned with appropriate levels of inventory. Ensure that the emergency equipment is checked daily-documentation required. Maintain and order CT supplies as needed.

  7. Uses best judgment when calling in services for repairs.

  8. Understand principles of correct body mechanics and is able to apply these in assisting patients during transfer, lifting and ambulation.

  9. Complies with all continuing education requirements as dictated by regulatory entities.

  10. Required to take standby and be on call, as needed. If on call, will be available within 20 minutes of notification of need.

  11. Participate in Quality Improvement Programs.

  12. Required to maintain active Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.

  13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Associate's Degree in Radiologic Technology from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.

  • ARRT Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist, RT(R).
  • Must be ARRT registry eligible for CT and ARRT registered in CT within one year of employment in CT classification.
  • Washington State Certification as Radiologic Technologist (RT) license.

Desired:

  • Minimum six months as a Radiologic Technologist to include fluoroscopy.

F = Frequent, represents 26 to 50% or up to 1 hour of a 2 hour workday.

C = Continuous, represents 51% to 100% or up to 2 hours of a 2 hour workday.

  • Must be able to take call with a response time of 20 minutes. Assists in lifting patients and places them in appropriate positions with the use of safe patient handling equipment. Requires manual and finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and depth perception for operation of equipment
