Avalara is looking for a Senior Project Manager for the newly created Business Transformation PMO, who will ensure a high degree of integrity and lead project execution and understanding of teams. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for a broad range of activities including project management of projects, establishing process and rigor with our partners, and integrating best practices. You are collaborative and possess the ability to communicate a process and structure to allow multiple teams to achieve their goals across the organization. As our Senior Project Manager you will have a record of excellence, operate independently and thrive within a team environment. You can support what is in the best interest of the business. You will report to the Senior Director, Finance AI Transformation. This is a remote position in the United States.

• Create project plans to support company priorities

• Operationalize and build scalable processes

• Define business metrics to track operational effectiveness of projects and identify opportunities for improvement

• You will guide decision-making

• Help create main initiative project plans, scope and goals

• Identify required resources needed to reach goals and manage resources

• Provide project updates on a consistent basis to multiple partners about strategy, adjustments, and progress

• You will use industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution

• Provide executive readout summaries, on specific main projects

• 5+ years of Project Management experience

• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

• You are experienced in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on PowerPoint presentations

• Proficient in the use of Jira and Confluence

• You have a background in Accounting/Finance
• You have experience coordinating teams, align goals, and lead execution
• You have experience gaining support by influencing peers and senior leadership
• Proven ability to solve problems creatively
• Demonstrated leadership and integrity

Pay Range Details

The base pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be
different in other locations.

Colorado $126,000- $201,600 (annually) 
Washington $126,00-222,800 (annually) 
California $126,000-$244,000 (annually) 
NYC $152,600-$244,000 (annually) 

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the state listed. The
successful candidate’s actual salary/wage may be based on various factors, such as geographic
location, candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
This role is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance, depending on
the terms of the applicable plan and the employee’s role.
