Machine Operator with Amphenol Industrial Operations

 

The Machine Operator will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery efficiently, ensuring the continuous production of high-quality products. This role is essential to our operations, and the ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. We are primarily hiring for second shift. Current shifts are first (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM) and second (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM). Shifts could be 10-12 hours with overtime available.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate machinery and equipment according to the operating manual and training guidelines.
  • Monitor machines to ensure stability and continuously check for any signs of malfunction or irregularities.
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime.
  • Quickly address and troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and inform the maintenance team for more complex problems.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to comply with safety regulations.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and use required personal protective equipment.
  • Record and report production data accurately, including machine performance and product quality.
  • Assist in adjusting machine settings for different production batches.
  • Collaborate with other team members and departments to improve efficiency, quality, and overall production flow.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and stay updated with machine operations.
  • Cross train in production to fill in gaps.

Qualifications

 

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of machine mechanics and the operational process
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy items and stand for prolonged periods of time
  • Previous work in a manufacturing environment

 

Preferred:

  • Technical certification or training in machine operation or related field is a plus.
  • One year or more of experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment

 

Knowledge/ Skills:

  • Attention to detail
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic math and computer skills
