Pay Range: $17.07 - $25.60

Summary:

The role of the technician is in drug and alcohol testing utilizing Department of Transportation (DOT) and other agency or competency standards. The technician also completes clinic screenings, to include PFT's audiograms and fit testing. The technician directs patients and visitors to ensure their needs are met in a timely manner. This position also completes inventory control and transports supplies and collected specimens to other locations.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Receives and directs all patients, visitors and professionals ensuring that their needs are met in a timely manner. Answers telephone and voice mail and routes calls and messages promptly, courteously and in a helpful manner. Opens, sorts and processes mail, and answers routine correspondence as required.

  • Collects and labels specimens, completes chain of custody on each specimen collected for drug/alcohol screen, enters the data into the computer, generates billing, and contacts appropriate mail agency for pickup for specimens.

  • Performs clinical screenings to include but not limited to PFT’s, audiograms, Fit testing, and drug screening appropriate to skills validation and certifications.

  • Performs clinical functions on workers appropriate to skills validation/certification.

  • Provides on-site collections at area businesses. Transports supplies to on-site location and transports collected specimens back to the department.

  • Assists with data entry of company profiles into database and billing of services as requested and monitors compliance.

  • Completes inventory control.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.

Certification:

  • Driver's License with Acceptable Driving Record | Driver's License - Current State Licensed | Prior to Start Date | HR Primary Sources

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Within 90 days of Start Date | Learning Management System

This position requires proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English to ensure effective communication in the workplace and with patients, families, and team members.
