Pay Range: $15.50 - $23.22

Summary:

The Maintenance Control Center Technician recognizes problems and alarms on all computerized monitoring systems and responds appropriately. This position serves as a customer service point of contact for security and maintenance requests. The technician communicates effectively to ensure continuity between Maintenance personnel and Control Center and assists with chemical system and monitors the chilled water and cooling tower system. This position works closely with the Maintenance Supervisor in making adjustments to the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The Maintenance Control Center Technician monitors weather problems or threats locally and nationally and ensures all preventive maintenance work orders are generated.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Recognizes problems and alarms on all computerized monitoring systems such as fire alarm, chiller, HVAC, elevators, translogic tube, steam, security camera, access control and electrical generators, and responds appropriately.

  • Serves as a point of contact for security and maintenance requests by obtaining necessary information from requesting department/person and dispatches the appropriate person (Security Guard, Maintenance Tech, Biomed Tech, Information Systems Tech, etc.) to handle the situation. Documents the request and actions taken.

  • Receives customers, answers phones in a professional manner, schedules meetings and logs vendors and contractors for the safety and security of the building.

  • Starts and stops the chiller system, back-washes filters, assists with chemical system, and monitors the chilled water and cooling tower system.

  • Ensures that all incoming work order requests are entered into the computer system and prioritized. Closes out completed work orders.

  • Monitors weather problems or threats locally and nationally and ensures that the Safety and Security and Maintenance Managers are notified.

  • Ensures internal procedures are kept up-to-date and communicated to appropriate staff.

  • Works closely with the Maintenance Supervisor in making adjustments to our heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems.

  • Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the department/organization.
