Overview

AIT is seeking a Dispatcher I! We are flexible on start time, if needed along with extra hours to be earned on the weekends, if applicable.

The Dispatcher I is responsible for overseeing and documenting the pickup and delivery of local shipments, as well as coordinating and communicating shipment information between drivers and delivery agents.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for routing local freight, dispatching drivers, performing dock checks, tracking shipments, working with dock staff members to ensure movement of freight.
  • Timely event data entry of shipment milestones into MyAIT & AS400 tracking system – pickup, delivery, obtain proof of delivery.
  • Provide customer service to identify and meet specific customer needs. Answer/make customer inquiry calls and address customer concerns/complaints.
  • Assign driver load planning based on local mapping & appointments accordingly.
  • Identifying and coordinating the prioritization of rushed/urgent/last minute shipments.
  • Other duties and responsibilities will be assigned as business demands deem necessary.
  • The wage range for this position is $18.00-$25.50 and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalency required; Associate Degree or equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience n dispatching, logistics coordination or transportation management industry. 
  • Familiarity with final mile delivery operations and routing software (e.g., DispatchTrack, Onfleet, Roadnet). 
  • Strong problem solving and multi-tasking skills with abilities to develop new ideas and innovative solutions.
  • High attention to details and organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel)
