Primary purpose and function of position:
Reporting to the ASRS Engineering First Line Manager based within the Logistics Department the role of an FLT Technician is considered as a multi-skilled Engineering position.
The main purpose of the FLT Engineer is to carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a fleet of fork lift trucks and other material handling equipment supporting Logistics in servicing customer demand. The role is vital to ensure a continued operation of the fleet in a cost efficient manner – ensuring 100% focus on Safety and MHE technical requirements controlled by various mandatory requirements. An FLT Engineering Technician will look to improve the reliability and safety of the material handling equipment from a mechanical and electrical perspective.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The role requires the Fork Truck Engineer to facilitate effective operation of the fleet to ensure effective storage and retrieval of stock as and when needed.
Acting as a role model for safety and leading by example are key pre-requisites of the role.
The FLT Engineer will look to trouble shoot faults and issues with the fleet that would interrupt normal operation – looking for support via the Linde Technical Services team when required.
The role holder must be capable of understanding and defining where faults or operational issues exist and would work together to resolve them in the safest and most efficient means to allow Departmental KPI`s to maintaining the highest safety standards.
